On 4/17/24 at 2043 hours, Troopers stopped a vehicle for seat belt violations on Danver Street in Anchor Point. The driver of the vehicle initially gave a false name but was eventually identified as Shane Schnieder, 21 of Homer. Schneider was found to have a felony warrant for his arrest and a revoked driver's license. He was arrested and remanded into the Homer Jail on the warrant and a new charge of Making a False Report. He was also cited for driving with a revoked license.

On 4/17/2024, at approximately 2128 hours, MATCOM AST dispatch received a call about a disturbance in Wasilla. AST residence investigation revealed that Jeremiah Witt, 30, of Wasilla, had placed a family member in fear of imminent physical injury. Witt was arrested, transported, and remanded at MATSU Pretrial for the charge of Assault IV.

On 4/18/2024 at approximately 1145 hours, Troopers with Palmer Judicial Services arrested Oralee Bowley, age 24, of Wasilla for an outstanding arrest warrant for failing to appear at a pre-trial conference for the original charge of Assault IV. Bowley was remanded to the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility with bail set at $500 cash appearance.

On 4/18/24 at 2053 hours, the Alaska State Troopers responded to an address in Wasilla for the report of a disturbance. Investigation revealed that, Neveah Pope, age 18 of Wasilla, had broken property of someone with whom she has a domestic relationship with. Neveah was arrested without incident and transported to Mat-Su Pre-Trial where she was held without bail.

The safe was located at a fishcamp just north of Kwethluk in the snow, and unsuccessful attempts were made to break it open. The safe was returned, and the investigation is ongoing.

On 04/18/2024 at approximately 0945 hours, the Alaska State Troopers Criminal Suppression Unit in Fairbanks (CSU) and Patrol contacted Tamara Spaulding, 54, of Fairbanks near 18 mile Chena Hot Springs Road. Spaulding had an outstanding $20,000 felony arrest warrant for Failure to Appear for Omnibus Hearing on the original charges of Forgery II, Theft I, Scheme to Defraud, and Offering a False Instrument for Recording I (ref. 4FA-23-00401CR).
Spaulding was placed under arrest and transported to the Fairbanks Correctional Center without incident.

On April 18th 2024, at about 1958, Troopers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for multiple traffic violations. Upon contact with the driver and further investigation, it was determined that the driver, Annette Keogh, had a Revoked driver's license that was revoked until the year 2064 and still inside the Revocation period. Annette was transported to FCC without incident.

On 04/18/2024, Alaska State Troopers (AST) located and arrested Melinda Roberts (age 40 of Koyukuk). Additional investigation revealed Melinda was violating her conditions of release by not being within sight and/or sound of her third party custodians on two occasions. Melinda was transported to Fairbanks where she was remanded to Fairbanks Correctional Center (FCC) on her outstanding bench warrant and two counts of Violation of Conditions of Release (VCOR).

UPDATE:
On April 15, 2024, Hunter pled guilty, in the Emmonak Court, to unlawful taking of big game by same day airborne and unlawful possession/transportation of game. He was fined $10,000. The bow and accessories, moose meat, and antlers were forfeited to the state. His hunting privileges were revoked for one year and he was ordered to not accompany anyone that is hunting for one year. He was also ordered to pay $1,000 restitution to the state.
On February 20, 2024, Sherwood pled no contest to unlawful possession/transportation of game. He was fined $3,000 in the Emmonak Court.
ORIGINAL:
On September 29, 2023, AWT Bethel received a report of possible same day airborne moose hunting, in GMU 18 near Pilot Station. Further investigation revealed Seth Hunter, age 25 of Tennessee, and Connor Sherwood, age 28 of Montana, departed Bethel in a white/green super cub on floats, on September 25, 2023. They set up camp and stayed one night. The following day, the hunters flew the super cub to a different location in GMU 18. After spotting moose from the air, they landed the plane and began hunting. Approximately 5 hours later, Seth took a bull moose with a bow. They returned to Bethel on September 28, 2023. The moose rack, bow, and backstraps were seized as evidence of the crime. The super cub was returned to its owner. The remaining meat was donated in Bethel. Charges are being forwarded to the District Attorney's Office in Bethel.
